The Sam Bernstein Law Firm is pleased to announce that the Port Huron Township Allstars is the baseball team that won the 1-800-CALL-SAM Best Call Ever Contest. The Allstars were randomly selected as winners from over 80 youth baseball teams entered by coaches or parents who submitted online contest entry forms before the contest deadline at midnight on June 27, 2010.
Sam Bernstein and Mark Bernstein personally called the Allstars coach, Jeremy Dove, to tell him that his team had won a Big League Batting Practice Party on the field at Comerica Park and an opportunity to appear on a Fox Sports Detroit television broadcast.
Mark Bernstein was particularly happy that the team will get to go to Comerica Park, “We are thrilled to help kids live this once-in-a-lifetime experience.” After hearing the good news, Coach Dove said, “It was so great they could do this for our community.”
Needless to say, the players were enthusiastic. Coach Dove explained that he told them at batting practice. “I surprised my team by saying, ‘I think we need more practice, let’s go to Comerica Park!’ They were all so excited.”
The Port Huron Township Allstars team has 13 players, who are 9 to 10 years of age. This is a newly created team, comprised of 12 boys and 1 girl, who played in the local Port Huron Township baseball league. They are called the “Allstars” because these players were selected to represent their area in tournaments and competitions around the state.
