In the wake of a lawsuit filed by a woman who says she was put on "weight probation" by a Hooters restaurant in Roseville, another former employee of that location tells WXYZ that she was fired after a post-pregnancy weight gain.
Leanne Convery says that after giving birth to her son, now 5, her weight has gone up and down. But ten months ago, she was terminated from Hooters after five years -- even after losing 15 pounds.
"I had a 100 percent in everything except for my uniform fitting. They said 'your uniform doesn't fit properly, and you have 30 days to improve,'" Convery told the TV station.
Smith, being represented by the law offices of Sam Bernstein, says Hooters violated Michigan law when it placed her on 30-day weight probation earlier this month. She resigned as a result.
