Blind Man Suing ABA for Discrimination

(WXYZ) - A blind man who has overcome a lifetime of obstacles is taking on the legal establishment tonight over a policy he says prevents him from becoming a lawyer.
Angello Binno is suing The American Bar Association because he says they will not
accept him into law school. The Law School Admissions Council is a private entity that administers the LSAT or application test to get into law school. On that test in the logical games section, are questions you have to see, to complete.
Binno says “I am frustrated that I am being denied the opportunity to go to law school."
Binno speaks three languages, has worked with law enforcement in Homeland Security and now the 28-year-old wants to be a lawyer, but can’t even apply because he’s blind.
Richard Bernstein is Angello's attorney. He is a blind attorney who is planning to take on the American Bar Association policy that a school must not waive the LSAT for anyone, or it will be stripped of accredidation.
The policy came after Northwestern waived the application test for him in 1996 because of some so called discriminatory questions. "I want to be a lawyer to help make sure others are treated fairly," says Binno.
Richard Bernstein says the law school administration council has been sued twice by the government for violating the civil rights of the disabled. Angello's lawsuit begins May 24th.
